What Does The Deck Say? January 02 2017

The Fey Tarot is the work of Mara Aghem. While the card names mostly track conventional tarot naming, the scenes differ from Pamela Coleman Smith’s renditions. Not all minors display the full pip count of their number. Rather, the scenes are meant to evoke the intuition of the reader rather than depend on long lists of regurgitated meanings.

Today’s cards: 3 of Swords, Queen of Pentacles, & 6 of Pentacles.

It’s not going to sting, it’s going to hurt like hell, and you will wonder if you’re dying and be doubly hurt when you realize you are not. The pain will tempt you to remain smothered by it, but there is a sky above the murkiness and hard land for you to walk forward on. To get there, stand up. Use your responsibilities as an excuse to keep going one more day, one more hour, one more task. All the while, your emotional wound will be worked and the process of healing will begin. It may seem counter-intuitive to be told that the way to build yourself back up is to give yourself away. But you’re not giving away what is at your core. You are “giving” away the same work that the world has given you. One day at a time. One sunrise at a time. One satisfaction at a time.
