“It’s good you came to me. The cards reveal the source of your troubles. A generational curse has been passed on to you. Not of your fault, but you have it. Things will only get worse unless it is broken. I can break it. But it will not be quick, or cheap. I have a candle that you can use to protect you, but it must be bought to be effective…” Tarot scams are like computer repair scams. They work only on those that never do either for themselves. The Legacy of the Divine’s meanings read like a reconciliation between Waite and Crowley. While purists of either system will be howling at the mingling of meanings and symbolism, the deck stands for itself and Leisa ReFalo’s meanings have proven themselves over the years.
Today’s cards: 10 of Coinsrv, King of Coins, & The Moon. Continue reading What Does The Deck Say? June 18 2014
A woman, facing the viewer, stands on soggy ground with her head tilted down. Puddles are here and there under her feet and around her. She is blindfolded and bound with either several lengths of cloth or one long cloth wrapped several times around her. Her hands are presumed to be bound behind her back. To the viewer’s left are three longswords planted hilt up in the ground beside the figure. To the viewer’s right are five more longswords planted the same way. Between those five can be seen a hill and keep in the distance. The sky is featureless. Continue reading 8 of Swords
A new pack of tarot cards is placed on the desk. Still fresh from the printers, there is a fading scent of bitter ink coming from the protective plastic wrapping. The glare of the light prevents you from seeing the art on the box clearly. You can make out the word “Tarot” in a large font. Quick. What kind of tarot deck is this? Any kind you need it to be. What a tarot deck is, is ultimately determined by the hands that use them. Continue reading Different Views, Different Uses
The Thoth Tarot is a Love It or Leave It deck. It can be used without knowledge of Thelema or the means by which Crowley arrived at his meanings. Or you can peek into the rabbit hole, and find a new world to explore.
Today’s cards: Ace of Swords, 9 of Disks, & 10 of Disks. Continue reading What Does The Deck Say? June 17 2014
A youth with a tall cap appears to be caught in the act of dancing while holding a large disc in either hand. He is focused on the lowered left hand and the disc it holds while his right hand is holding a disc up to balance the move. He does not appear to notice the two discs are surrounded by the two sections of a lemniscate. (He could also be using the lemniscate at part of his play.) The sky is cloudless but the seas are literally rolling in the far distance. Two ships are seen, one in full sail and intact, another with stripped masts. Continue reading 2 of Pentacles
“What do you see in the cards?” “I… I don’t know! I suddenly can’t understand them!”
