Because it hurts them to hear it come out of your mouth. There is an undercurrent to the flow of information between you and them that you have not yet delved deep enough to touch. As a result, you have a shallow understanding of their names and a oil-slick thin understanding of why they are tolerating hearing that name out of your mouth. But you have gone deep enough to pick up on the discomfort. As such, this card is the prompt for a conversation you should have with them as only they can tell you what name they would rather hear instead.
