Anonymous asks: “Should I start looking for a new job?”

This is a difficult question to answer without conversation and context because of the word “should”. You know what you mean and the circumstances you are in. You are clearly pushed to the breaking point as it is or you would not have proposed the question in the first place. However, it will take more than one card to review those circumstances. It would be easy for me to tell you that of course you should bail when you haven’t told me that this is your only source of income and your other options are neither legal nor safe. Just because something “should” happen, doesn’t mean that it would be prudent or good for it to happen.
Having said that, the one card answer of the reversed Eight of Swords says that no, you should not start looking for a new job right now. Sit on as much money as you can, right now. See what you can do to make it a little more tolerable, right now. And keep your eyes open to not only the job you are in, but what else is going on around you, right now, because there is something you don’t know yet, and you don’t want to jump from the frying pan into the fire. However, once that fog is lifted and the information becomes clear, you won’t need a card pull to tell you when to pull that lever.
